Pottery

Today I worked in the new pottery studio.I wrapped up some of my finished clay work to take home and glazed a white bird.I coloured a little pot gold too.

Arohanui Tree

We have put up our Christmas tree at Arohanui.It is covered in lights,baubles and clay shapes that we made in pottery.I helped to decorate it !

Cooking

We made pizzas,yum !  We put lots of cheese on the top.

The new studio

Here I am checking out the new chairs for our pottery studio....we have a new table too.I'm looking forward to making some new creations with the clay in this room !!

Girls group

I had my hair straightened in the girls group session,I really enjoyed this !

"Happy Chappies"

I have now finished my clay faces...I call them "Happy Chappies". Here they all framed and ready to hang on the wall.

Culture Studies

We are learning about Maori culture and I decorated a mask .Here I am designing my moko which I will paint onto the mask.

Self Portrait

Yesterday I had fun looking in the mirror and drawing my face ! I used a pencil then added colours with oil pastels.

Fraser Cove

Girls group had an outing to Fraser Cove.I had a lovely time out with my friends and brought back some chips for afternoon tea ! .....should have enough for several teas !!

Police dog visit

Today the police dog Ty came and visited us with Paul his handler. It was a big dog and hopped on the couch with me.

Tiki art

Yesterday I made a card for my family.I used a stencil and a sponge to put the paint on.

Fun in Computers!

There is an app called Photo Booth on my iPad.  this can make all sorts of exciting pictures.  I think I look gorgeous in this one!!!

I decorated my Tiki butterfly ready for putting on a large canvas.We are studying Maori culture for the next few weeks.

Visit to Tauranga

I enjoyed my visit to town.I loved looking at all the material and we chose some for girls group.We are making wheat bags.

Sensory

I had fun in the sensory room this week.I enjoyed changing the colours of the bubble tube.

Foot Spa's at work!

In Girls Group I got to kick off my shoes and socks and enjoy a nice warm foot spa! I sat there with a big smile on my face because I enjoyed it so much!

Cultural Art

In cultural art we are learning about New Zealand art. We each have a scrapbook and this week I designed my front cover, cutting out and pasting New Zealand pics :-)

Cookery

I helped to put the muffin cases in the tray.We made apple muffins and they were delicious.

Pebble Art

Today in mosaics we started a pebble art project. I really enjoyed lining up all the pebbles to look like rocks at the beach.

My visitor

Last week I had a visitor.Her name is Hayley and she came to show me photos and have a chat about fashion.Hayley is a student at the Polytechnic and a group from Arohanui visited her fashion show too.

Pottery People

I have had the best day ever !!! I had such fun making clay faces,feeling the soft clay with my fingers and using the tools to draw the eyes ,nose,mouth and hair...then I added clay ears.They are my happy faces!!!

Personal books

Here I am busy working on my book.....it is filled with lots of art work and photos to do with all my activities at Arohanui.

Sensory

This morning I listened to a cd of birdsong....I laughed with surprise at the different sounds!
